Here's 10 commandments for those who seek a more leana nd athletically sculpted physique! Start applying these commandments today!

Athletic Body Commandment Number 1
You MUST Take 100% RESPONSIBILITY. This is an ABSOLUTE MUST and the most important commandment there is. You must take 100% absolute responsibility for all areas of your life, including your physical status.

We all like to pass the book from time to time, but this does us absolutely no good in the long run. Working as personal trainers we see and experience what we like to call “Trainer Hopping.” Trainer hopping is when a person switches from trainer to trainer, looking for better results, blaming the lack of results on their trainer, and not taking the onus upon themselves to be completely involved and committed to the process required in order to attain the results they desire. Yes, there are trainers that are better than others and yes there are training methods and systems that produce better results than others. However, before you give up on any trainer or training program, always first look to evaluate yourself and your level of focus and commitment towards what it is that you want to achieve. Only when you have completely evaluated your own level of commitment, should you consider an alternative. Remember systems DON’T fail people, people fail the systems. If you don’t take complete responsibility in all areas of your life, you are doomed to fail.

There are 24 hours in a day, 168 hours in a week. Even if you train for 5 of those hours that still leaves you with 163 hours in which you can completely screw things up for yourself via lifestyle and nutritional habits. START thinking outside and beyond the training sessions themselves. You have 168 hours each week to make progress!

By taking complete responsibility the onus is on YOU to produce results in all areas of your life, including the physical realm. Once you accept and take 100% responsibility for all aspects of your life, including your health and fitness, you will now want to look at creating accountability for yourself.

Athletic Body Commandment Number 2
You MUST Create ACCOUNTABILITY! Taking responsibility for you own actions or lack of action is great, as we discussed above, but you must also create accountability if you want to succeed. You need to hold yourself accountable, but it helps to recruit an accountability buddy.

By creating accountability you are putting yourself in a position to gain support from others, which is another vital ingredient in the lean body success recipe. It’s vitally important that those who you choose to make yourself accountable to are going to be individuals who will be supportive and provide positive feedback and critique, on a consistent basis. Be hard on yourself and make sure your accountability buddy(s) is also hard on you. Softness from any party will lead to a soft body, not a lean one.

Athletic Body Commandment Number 3
You MUST Set GOALS! It’s extremely important that you clearly identify your goals and be as specific as possible. Not only that but you must also commit your goals to paper, don’t just think it, INK IT! It’s also important to share your goals with someone and you should regularly reaffirm your goals.

Athletic Body Commandment Number 4
You MUST Have P.A.S.S.I.O.N!!! Remember the acronym PASSION…

P = You must have a PLAN.
A = You must take ACTION and put your plan into ACTION.
S = You must have SELF BELIEF and begin with SUCCESS IN MIND.
S = You must find SOCIAL SUPPORT and SURROUND yourself with positive people.
I = You must be INVESTED emotionally, financially and physically.
O = You must identify any and all potential OBSTACLES.
N = You must NEVER GIVE UP.

Athletic Body Commandment Number 5
You MUST Train Like An ATHLETE! If you want an athletic physique then you must start training more athletically. DO NOT expect to achieve the athletic look if you are training like an endurance athlete or off an old school bodybuilder style program. Training like an athlete simply means you should be training your body as a functional unit and that you should MOVE when you train. You MUST also train with more INTENSITY, and it doesn’t matter if your goal is fat loss, conditioning or muscle gain, intensity is going to be the key to your success.

Athletic Body Commandment Number 6
You MUST Train With More INTENT! Not only should you train with more intensity, you should also be training with more INTENT or PURPOSE. Too many people are simply training through the motions. If you want results then you got to start training for results.

Athletic Body Commandment Number 7
You MUST Clean Up Your NUTRITION! Lean body success is not achieved by eating fast food and cake. Your lean body success recipe starts in the kitchen. There’s no way around this issue, if you want to get lean, then you got to eat clean.

Athletic Body Commandment Number 8
DON’T Depend On SUPPLEMENTS!!! Supplements can be and are useful at times, but not for everybody and they are completely useless if you haven’t properly addressed commandment number six. Supplements are designed to aid an already clean and well balanced diet. They DO NOT replace or override the effects of a bad diet.

Athletic Body Commandment Number 9
You MUST Apply The 90/10 RULE! Apply the 90/10 RULE to all areas of your life, your training, your nutrition and your lifestyle. You MUST become very focused on your goals and attaining the body you want. However, you must not get so focused that you lose sight of other things and responsibilities you have going in your life. Let the lean body lifestyle show up in all areas of your life, but don’t make it your entire life. Basically don’t be a perfectionist and don’t be rigid. Variety is key!

Athletic Body Commandment Number 10
You MUST EXPECT RESULTS!!! Just don’t expect everything to happen overnight! Way too many people fail in their quest of developing a lean body simply because they don’t really believe they will be successful. We want you to live as though you already have the body you want. This is why we tell you to START your quest with self-belief and believing that you will be SUCCESSFUL. So be patient, be persistent and EXPECT RESULTS!

BONUS Athletic Body Commandment Number 11
Journal Your JOURNEY!!! We encourage you to journal as much as you can about your journey from the very start. Track your training via a training diary, log all your meals and snacks via a nutritional log and keep a personal journal and write down how you feel about the progress you are making, what you are struggling with and how you plan to address and resolve these struggles. Details, details, details.
