Fitness STAR Model Search – FAQ

1. Why should I compete with Fitness STAR Model Search?

Fitness STAR Model Search is a fitness event organization that is synonymous with integrity, quality and fairness. Fitness STAR is very passionate and driven to produce exceptional service oriented events for competitors to make them ALL feel like stars and deliver a serious WOW factor to all event attendees and sponsors!!! If you are a fitness model and are serious about becoming the next Fitness STAR, then this is the organization that you will want to compete with for massive exposure, amazing prizes, instant on stage cash, lucrative sponsorships and ample modeling opportunities!!!

2. What kind of exposure will I get by competing?

Fitness STAR Model Search will have representation from many different fitness magazines, fitness websites, fitness companies, fitness organizations, modeling agencies, scouts, agents, videographers and/or photographers at each event!

By competing with Fitness STAR Model Search you are encouraged to set up a Fitness STAR Network profile at http://fitnessstarnetwork.com so all of the aforementioned opportunities can easily find and communicate with you directly through the network.

3. Do I have to be from the city or country to compete at a specific event?

No. You can reside anywhere and compete in any Fitness STAR Model Search.

4. What other cities and/or countries is Fitness STAR Model Search coming to?

We will only be focusing on Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Halifax in Canada over the next few years; however we have a massive amount of interest from competitors that are messaging us from many other Canadian cities and from all over the globe including the United States, England, Germany, South Africa and Australia. Please feel free to come to the beautiful country of Canada and proudly represent your country! We welcome you with open arms!

Once we PERFECT the 5 cities listed above with quality events, we will definitely consider spreading our wings and bringing Fitness STAR Model Search to a city near you! Quality before quantity!!!

5. Do I need a membership or have to pay any extra fees?

No. Fitness STAR Model Search does NOT believe in gouging our competitors for extra cash with mandatory hidden fees, camps, workshops, extra expenses, drug testing fees and/or fine print BS.

The only fee there is other than the $150 competitor registration fee is a $4.75 online registration fee that RegOnline.com charges us and/or any OPTIONAL additional items that you would like to purchase such as Fitness STAR Model Search Competitor Photography Packages, Joyzone.com Nutrition Plans, Fitness STAR Workshops, Fitness STAR Clothing, Fitness STAR Model Search Event DVDs and/or Fitness STAR Training DVDs.

6. Are the Fitness STAR Model Search events Drug Tested?

No. If you want to be STUPID and KILL yourself with banned substances that is solely your decision! If you are noticeably on some sort of illegal substance to enhance your physique you will NOT win or even place top 3 in any Fitness STAR Model Search. That is not the marketable and healthy look we seek.

If it is later discovered that you have CHEATED and managed to fool us temporarily, you will be banned to compete with Fitness STAR Model Search for life, any status including Fitness SUPERSTAR status will be removed, you will be kicked off of the Fitness STAR Network and your name will be publicly announced in disgrace to our entire contact database and mailing list.

Believe us, the Fitness STAR Judges are seasoned PROS/Competitors and know EXACTLY what to look for so don’t waste your time. Please move along and go to some other fitness event organizations that just don’t care or say they are all-natural and turn a blind eye. They will welcome your cash with open arms…

7. Is there a cap on how many competitors can compete?

Yes. There will be a cap on specific Fitness STAR Model Search events to accommodate smaller upscale venues and smaller change room facilities.

If we are hosting an event at a larger venue then the cap may be lifted.

8. Should I register early or wait until closer to the event?

Yes. If you plan on competing at a Fitness STAR Model Search please register EARLY to avoid disappointment of not being able to compete due to your category/level reaching the cap.

By registering early you will also set a goal date for yourself and focus your energies, thoughts, training and nutrition properly with ample time and preparation to ensure you are in the best shape of your life for the Fitness STAR Model Search!

9. Is it less expensive to register early or are the any discounts or deals?

No. Fitness STAR Model Search has no early bird specials, discounts or deals to register early to compete. We deliver a lot of value for our $150 competitor registration fee and do not have any extra charges, drug testing fees or membership fees.

10. When is the cutoff to register for each Fitness STAR Model Search event?

Every Fitness STAR Model Search cutoff date will be EXACTLY one week out from the event date to ensure that we are completely organized and run smooth and efficient competitions.

The event attendees will also receive an event brochure that has all of the competitors in it so they know who each competitor is for our audience voting.

11. What is the cost to compete with Fitness STAR Model Search?

$150 Canadian.

12. How do I know what Fitness STAR Level I am?

Please view the Fitness STAR Level System under Competitor Information on the COMPETITORS page to select your Level.

13. Can I compete in more than one Fitness STAR Level and/or category?

No. You can only compete in one level and one category.

14. What is the difference between an Athletic Fitness Model and a Muscular Fitness Model?

Please view the Competitor Categories on the COMPETITORS page to select your Category.
In relation to other potential fitness event organization categories, an Athletic Fitness Model can be compared to the body types of Fitness Models and Bikini Models. Muscular Fitness Model is a category for Natural Bodybuilders, Figure Models and Muscle Models.

15. What happens if there are less than 5 competitors in my height class?

If there are less than 5 competitors in your height class then there will be no height class for that Level.

16. Can I still compete if I am over 40 years young?

Yes. You can compete in the Fitness STAR Model Search Masters Category which starts at the young age of 40.

Note: There are NO height classes for Masters and if there are less than 3 competitors in your Level then you will compete in one Fitness STAR Level lower.

17. Does Fitness STAR Model Search have PROS?

Yes. Level 5 Fitness SUPERSTAR is considered our PRO Level.

18. I have competed in other organizations so can I be grand fathered into higher Fitness STAR Levels?

Yes. You can be grand fathered into specific Fitness STAR Levels according to the guidelines in the Fitness STAR Level System under Competitor Information on the COMPETITORS page.

Note: By being a PRO in any other organization does not qualify for equivalency with a Fitness STAR Model Search - Level 5 Fitness SUPERSTAR (Our PRO Level). The highest Level that PROS from other organizations can be grand fathered into is Level 4 Fitness STAR and they have to earn the bragging rights to earn the ultimate Fitness SUPERSTAR status!!!

19. What are the benefits of being a Level 5 Fitness SUPERSTAR?

The benefits of being a Level 5 Fitness SUPERSTAR are massive exposure, awesome prizes, the largest cash rewards and a higher level of competition.

You will also be the most recognized Fitness STARS and potentially get the most modeling jobs, cover shots, magazine spreads, sponsorships and opportunities to advance your modeling or fitness career. You will definitely be in demand!

20. What are the benefits of being on Team Fitness STAR?

Being on Team Fitness STAR is the highest possible and most widely respected achievement within the Fitness STAR organization!

21. What kind of exposure does Fitness STAR Model Search offer?

Cover shots, magazine spreads, fitness infomercials, television appearances, interviews, modeling jobs, photo shoots, fitness ads, trade show appearances etc.

22. How can I market myself as a Fitness Model?

There are many different ways that you can market yourself as a Fitness Model including the Fitness STAR Network, Facebook, My Space, Magazines, Fellow Competitors, Photographers, Sponsors, Mailing Lists, Fan Pages, Portfolio Websites, Print Portfolio, Modeling Agencies, Trade shows and of course competing and attending shows!

A good idea is to stay in great shape all year round because you never know when the opportunities will arise! Network, network, network! Make sure you play an active role in getting your name and pictures out there especially as a newcomer so that you become recognizable and photographers will want to work with you.

23. Should I JOIN the Fitness STAR Network?

Yes. This will be the BEST way to market yourself through the network to communicate with the Fitness STAR affiliated fitness companies, sponsors, photographers, videographers, magazine editors, scouts, agents etc.

Please make sure you have a complete profile, centered profile picture and at least 4-6 additional pictures on your personal page. Another great suggestion is to JOIN as many groups as you can that you qualify for. Feel free to start you own group as well to market your services and/or company.

24. Should I join the Fitness STAR Mailing List?

Yes. This is the best way to stay connected with what is directly going on with Fitness STAR, Fitness STAR Model Search and the Fitness STAR Network. It is especially IMPORTANT to be on the Fitness STAR Mailing List if you are a competitor or plan on competing at a Fitness STAR Model Search.

25. Does Fitness STAR Model Search provide competitor photography packages?

Yes. Fitness STAR Official Photographer Alex Gadamer, offers this service to ALL of our competitors and is centrally positioned at the end of the Fitness STAR Model Search runway where the Fitness STAR Judges are sitting. This is hands down the best seat in the house for our official photographer with the absolute best view of each competitor.

Each Fitness STAR Model Search Competitor Photography Package includes multiple shots of YOU during the Athletic Wear Round and the Swim Wear Round as well as any group shots, Top 3 or Top 5 that YOU place in!!!

Each Photography Package is sent directly to YOUR mailing address on a disk about 4-6 weeks after the event.

26. Does Fitness STAR provide portfolio photo shoots?

Yes. We have a list of affiliated Fitness STAR Photographers to support you in building your personal portfolios. Please contact info@fitnessstar.ca to find a photographer in your region.

27. Can I bring my own photographer?

Yes, however your photographer must pay to get in at the Regular or VIP Seating price and is not entitled to sit in the front photographer rows and must sit in the audience unless he or she is granted a Fitness STAR Model Search VIP Event Photographers Pass.

To get a VIP Event Photographers Pass they must send a link to their online portfolios to info@fitnessstar.ca.

Note: For the best pictures possible at the best angle and distance, please purchase the Fitness STAR Model Search Competitor Photography Package! We promise you, that you will be pleased with our work!

28. Are the event attendees aloud to video tape the competition?

No. Only Official Fitness STAR Model Search Videographers are allowed video cameras.

29. Does Fitness STAR hold workshops to educate and introduce me to Fitness Modeling?

Yes. We host workshops for Fitness Models that include learning how to walk, stage presence, competitor attire, make-up, training tips, tanning tips, posing tips and advice on what the Fitness STAR Model Search Judge are looking for.

30. Are the Fitness STAR workshops mandatory?

No, the Fitness STAR workshops are not mandatory, however they are highly recommended!

31. Should my friends and family buy tickets to come and watch me compete early or wait until closer to the event?

They should definitely buy their seating tickets early to avoid disappointment of the show being sold out. We are hosting our events in smaller, more upscale venues with limited seating.

32. Can my friends, family and event attendees buy tickets at the door?

It will be very unlikely that there will be any tickets available at the door, however in some instances there might be. It is highly advised to buy them online in advance!

33. Is Dream Tan or Pro Tan aloud on the day of the event?

NO. Please note, we are hosting our events in very upscale venues so PLEASE no applying Dream Tan and/or Pro Tan at the venue on the day of the event. We suggest you apply your Pro Tan for a couple of nights before the event. Please do NOT touch any walls or furniture after you have been sweating on stage. Thank you in advance for your co-operation. It is greatly appreciated! We will potentially have spray booth services at our events so please inquire at info@FitnessSTAR.ca.

34. Can I have my personal trainer or a friend backstage with me?

No. Only Fitness STAR Model Search Competitors are allowed backstage. Due to the limited space of the upscale, smaller venues we just do not have the room for additional people backstage. This will be controlled by a security guard at the entrance of the backstage to provide added security for the competitors and their belongings.

35. Will there be someone backstage to help me if I need it?

We will have Fitness STAR Staff backstage to support all of the competitors.

36. Will there be someone in charge of telling the competitors when they are supposed to be on stage?

Yes. We will have Fitness STAR Staff with Headsets that will be letting the competitors know when they are scheduled to go on stage.

37. Is there a mandatory model meeting before each event?

Yes. The mandatory model meeting will be held in the morning on the day of each event just after competitor registration.

38. Is there a host hotel for the Fitness STAR Model Search events?

Yes. Each event will have a host hotel.

39. Will I be able to thank my sponsors, personal trainer and/or nutritionist?

Yes. We actually ask for this information during the online registration process and will announce this during the competition.

40. How can I help advertise, market and spread the word about Fitness STAR Model Search and the Fitness STAR Network?

We greatly appreciate any support that our competitors offer Fitness STAR to spread the word about this amazing evolutionary and revolutionary fitness event organization!

You can become a Fitness STAR Model Search City Representative by e-mailing info@fitnessstar.ca and letting us know why you would be a good fit for Fitness STAR. We kindly request our city representatives to hand out postcards, flyers and/or posters to gyms, health food stores, supplement shops, tanning salons, fitness equipment stores, other fitness events etc.

If you own or work in one of the aforementioned facilities, please feel free to contact us with the amount of posters you wish to have for your facility and we will mail them to you directly!

If you don’t own or work in a facility or want to be a Fitness STAR Model Search City Representative, but still want to contribute to our growth, feel free to contact us and let us know how!

41. Will Fitness STAR be representing models as well?

Yes. Fitness STAR Agency will be representing models that have made it to Level 5 Fitness STAR.

42. Can I get a refund if I decide NOT to compete?

No. Fitness STAR has a strict NO Refund Policy. Fitness STAR only gives a Competitor Registration CREDIT to any future Fitness STAR Model Search of your choice within one year of the show that was canceled.

43. Will there be opportunities to work with Fitness STAR?

Yes. As Fitness STAR grows we will be needing more qualified people on board so we will be sourcing our future staff members and team from those who have excelled throughout the Fitness STAR Level System. Level 5 competitors will have the best chances to work with us and to be represented by the Fitness STAR Agency.
