In regards to your nutrition question....I think that would be a great question to ask in the forum. But to give you my two cents...I would say YES. I am assuming you mean leaning out for a competition and not just "leaning" out in terms of a healthy lifestyle.
As long as you are feeding your body the required amount of protein (Sequel, Vega is my protein powder of choice) and you are able to manipulte either carbs or fat as your energy source, I see why not!
