This is my personal bio:
My Philosophy on Nutrition, Physical Fitness &/or Focused Thinking:
:: My Philosophy ::
My interest for arts is nothing new...since the age of 10 I was creatively inclined towards music composition, drawing and colors. Having tasted the music scene for several years as a singer/writer and guitarist, connecting with people was something that I really loved. Furthermore, graphic arts in general has been a great methods for me to communicate to the masses but photography remains the pinnacle of all visual communications. My interest for human interaction and interpersonal relations was also something that got me into photography.
:: The Psychology Within my Photography ::
My degree in Psychology is most likely one of my driving forces when it comes to photography especially when it comes to portraits. What many photographers fail to posses is proper communication skills. When you are dealing with people it is always a challenge, but one that I truly love. Being knowledgeable in human behaviors, gives me that big edge over the competition as in a little over 10 years of being a photographer I have never had a case of a SHY model or negative issues during a shoot. Fitness portraits are no exception.
Everyone is critical about their shape and figure and it generally creates insecurities in many. The women are usually more prone to this but the beauty of my background is that no matter who it is, shape or height, they all end up with the same results and wow-factor reviews. The key is to be able to understand the behavioral changes that take place on a set and to talk constantly. You need to be an extroverted individual as a photographer to be able to stimulate a model's mind through conversation. This ALWAYS gets you great results as they are more relaxed and outgoing!
:: A Loose Atmosphere is Key ::
Consistency works best when the working atmosphere is so loose that the models forget its even a photo shoot! Consider it a big time party! Choosing the right mind frame is also important. Not everyone is comfortable in front of a lens and to achieve this you need to consider everyone differently. This is usually where my big sense of humor kicks in! Unlike the fashion industry that imposes a huge amount of stress on models, fitness does not. Also, in my opinion , a photographer's camera is nothing but a TOOL used to project his ideas. Although many rant about having the hottest gear in town, that does nothing because true photography lies withing the mind of the one person clicking on the shutter!
For me the greatest satisfaction is being able to bring someone insecure and shy out of their shell. To me thats art! The art of changing someones view of their image and self by means of still images! The art of boosting someone's confidence and self esteem levels through vibrant photos! Achieving this on a consistent basis has always been one of my strengths and main goals in portrait photography.
